Welcome Home

A New Book Celebrating 150 Years of Church History

Learn about the rich history of our congregation, from its founding to the present day, in our new book, “Welcome Home: A 150-Year History of Seattle First Baptist Church, 1869 to 2019.” This 210-page volume tells the story of thousands of members over a century and a half—guided by 22 senior ministers and a host of other church staff and volunteer leaders. It contains more than 150 photographs that bring to life the grit, spirit, and vision of those who came before us.

Books are available during special pick-up hours, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday–Friday, from now through September 25. During those times you can have a masked, socially distant conversation with a member of the book team as you pick up your copy. (Enter through the glass doors on Harvard Avenue.) After those dates, books will be available from church staff in the office.

The cost of the book is a $25 donation. You can donate in person by check or cash, or give online at https://www.seattlefirstbaptist.org/give.html. If you would like to donate a copy to be given to a member who cannot pay for the book, please add the amount to your donation.
