Our youth are truly leaders at SFBC.
One example of this is how the Youth Group of 2022-2023 called the rest of the congregation to pay attention to teenage mental health; educational programs, discussions, fundraising for local mental health advocacy organizations and our first Mental Health Sunday all sprung from youth leadership.
Youth Group
All youth in grades 6-12 are welcome to join our bi-weekly youth group. Together we create a safe space to hold the fun, messy, beautiful, challenging parts of growing up.
We regularly share lunch, tell stories, engage in service projects, play games, explore sacred texts and what it means to be church, learn and laugh together.
Next Generation Sunday
SFBC youth plan and lead worship for the congregation on “Next Generation Sunday”; past NextGen worship services have included music from Moana, High School Musical, and Lizzo, as well as meaningful sermonettes from our youth.
