Romney Legacy Lectures
SFBC is proud to host the annual Rodney R. Romney Legacy Lecture series. Upon longtime Rev. Dr. Romney’s retirement in 2001, a legacy fund was set up to honor his mission of providing opportunities for theological exploration, spiritual growth, and work for justice together.
Part of the fund is dedicated to supporting local organizations with their mission and work towards peace and justice.
The other part of the fund is used to bring guest speakers to SFBC who will speak to not only what the church is going through, but relevant issues for the city of Seattle and beyond.
Past guests have included Dr. Wilda C. Gafney, Rachel Held Evans, Rev. Osagyefo Sekou, Diana Butler Bass, Kaitlin Curtice, John Pavlovitz, Zack McDermott, Paul Rauschenbusch, Allyson Robinson, Richard Blanco, Rebecca Parker, Robin R. Meyers and more.
