The Wolf Tones
The Wolf Tones are Jim and Beth Wulff and the best accompanists allowed by man. In this case, that would be Mikel Rollins on acoustic bass, Clarence Cal on woodwinds, and Matt Clausen on drums.
Jim will be the featured vocalist at this event, loving the acoustics and the band behind him. He is featuring many of the songs on his CD “Songs From the Past”, and has performed vocally and on drums in the northwest for the last 35 years.
Beth Wulff is an award-winning keyboardist and songwriter, and her keys have accompanied such legends as Mary Wells, Al Wilson, Merrilee Rush and Patti Allen with Seattle Women in Rhythm & Blues, Elnah Jordan, and many more northwest artists.
Mikel Rollins has performed with the band Momentum at Seattle Jazz Vespers, and will be playing acoustic bass as he was on the CD recording, with his solid and tasteful approach. From performing with Isaac Scott to Lonnie Williams to Michael Powers and currently Jim Basnight, he has been on “innumerable stages” on multiple instruments.
Matt Clausen has been playing drums in every kind of band since he was very young. He was taught and mentored by the acclaimed Leslie “Stardrums” Milton. In his career, Matt has played across many states as well as Canada and Sweden. In 2005 he joined the band Gertrude’s Hearse and has been playing music with them all over the state.
Clarence Cal has been in Seattle since the 70’s, adding his style of soul, funk, and jazz to area bands since. He is currently with Acapulco Gold and Soulfunktion.
This is a band that blends many years of performing together with new sounds and grooves conveying their mutual passion for uplifting music.
