The Bill Chism Trio with Annie Eastwood on vocals
An eclectic combination of blues, rock and roll, jazz and swing to kick off the Holiday Season.
Bill Chism is a Seattle area guitarist who’s been studying guitar since 1961. His repertoire is a blend of jazz and pop. He plays both the melody and chords together with a style similar to Chet Atkins. This is a full sounding unique style that enables him to play as a solo instrumentalist as well as with a variety of other musicians.
Most notable, Bill has recorded two CDs, one of which was played on Muzak and the other a Christmas CD that received extensive airplay on Seattle’s KWJZ. Bill has appeared on KIRO TV’s Northwest Afternoon, performed at a wedding in Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman’s Malibu residence, and has toured as backup musician in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and most of North America.
Originally from the Midwest, vocalist Annie Eastwood has lived in Seattle for 20 years. She has been singing blues and ballads ever since her coffee house days at Kent State. Her repertoire features straight ahead rockin’ roadhouse blues, to smoldering slow burners, and swing tunes. Annie’s vocals combine elements of blues and jazz with a unique sultry, sensitive tone that she can shape to rock the house
Annie’s self designed and produced debut CD entitled Out of Her Mind features her distinctive vocals on all 10 cuts, six of which are her original songs. As a result, she was nominated in 2002 by the Washington Blues Society for Best Female Vocalist and the CD was nominated for Best Northwest Recording.
The band: Annie Eastwood, vocals; Bill Chism, guitar; Larry Hill, bass, Tom Brighton, percussion.
