Born and raised in West Virginia to parents who were rooted in the black church and its music, Eugenie Jones made her professional debut as a jazz singer in Seattle, WA. After graduate school and an extensive career in the business, Jones began pursuing music. The late-blooming, yet now extremely accomplished vocalist and composer, discovered a talent she had not previously tapped into.

The entertainer is described by audiences from the pacific northwest to the eastern seaboard as a clever lyricist with a beautifully passionate vocal style and engaging personality.

Jones revealed herself to be a remarkably mature and refresh…ingly different artist on her debut, award-winning recording, Black Lace Blue Tears. As a gifted composer, she wrote 9 of the 11 selections on the CD, offering contemporary insights into a variety of emotions and situations while staying true to flavor and feel of straight-ahead jazz.

Reviewed favorably in a multitude of print and online media, the debut was followed-up by the bold break-out release, Come Out Swingin’ self-penned straight-ahead swing jazz tunes joined by a bluesy version of the James Brown R&B classic, It’s A Man’s World, and seldom heard jazz standards such as Cole Porter’s Begin The Beguine. Her 2015 release peaked at #41 on Jazz Week Review and knocked radio audiences and critics everywhere off their feet.

Jones is described as a performer that makes audiences feel jazz differently and is vocally described by one critic as possessing, “A voice that covers words like pieces of silk covering precious stones.” True to the genre, she is a twenty-first century artist reminiscent in style and talent of iconic jazz vocalist/composers of long ago.
